She looked up at the stranger with wide, admiring eyes. Though her sarcasm was evident, she still hoped that he didn’t find her requesting his assistance bothersome. The last thing she needed was to be left out in the unfamiliar forest alone after dark, and the sun had already begun to set.
He gave a small shrug in response. It was merely a guess, seemingly right on target, despite her obvious sarcasm in her answer. With a huff, he turned his back to her and then began seemingly consulting with his buddy who was not far from him.
“–I don’t want to help her.”
“–but she’ll probably die out here.”
“–why should I care?”
“–because you’re a good person?”
“Try again.”
“–because you won’t get a reward
for helping her if she dies?”

Kristoff finally turned back to her and pretended as though she couldn’t hear all that the two discussed. “Alright, fine, I’ll help you. Are you going to the kingdom? Or somewhere else?”
